Very Large Chinese Neolithic Painted Vessel

3RD MILLENNIUM B.C.

22 in. (11.25 kg, 56 cm).

With tiered piriform body, two lateral rectangular loop handles below the equator, the upper body painted with ovals filled with various geometric motifs and hatched lines within plain bands, bulb to the neck with single loop handle and neck with everted rim. [No Reserve]

From a collection acquired on the UK art market from various auction houses and collections mostly before 2000.
From an important Cambridgeshire estate; thence by descent.
