ΦΟΙΝΙΞ (Phoinix, president of the Agonothetai). Head of Athena to right, wearing laureate and triple-crested Attic helmet / AΘΗΝΑΣ ΙΛΙΑΔΟΣ, The Palladion: Athena Ilias standing to right, wearing polos and chiton, holding distaff in left hand, filleted spear over right shoulder; to right, owl standing to right, head facing; monogram of ΔΗΜΗΤΡIOY(?) over star to inner left; ΦΟΙΝΙΚΟΣ in exergue. Ellis-Evans dies O14/R19; Bellinger -; Künker 236, lot 81 = Triton XI, lot 215 (same dies). Very Fine. Rough find patina. Extremely rare magistrate's name, only a few examples known.(14.36gr, 33mm, 12h.).

Babylon mint. The Great King, wearing kidaris and kandys, quiver over shoulder, in kneeling-running stance to right, holding transverse spear with right hand and bow with left / Wavy stripes patterned incuse punch. Cf. Nicolet-Pierre, Travaux Le Rider, p. 298, 6 and pl. 30, 6. 16.72gr, 20mm.
Good Very Fine. Test cut on reverse. Areas of weakness. Rare.

Persian king or hero, wearing kidaris and kandys, quiver over shoulder, in kneeling-running stance to right, holding dagger in right hand, bow in left; countermark 196 and 'lvv' in Lydian within rectangular incuse / Oblong incuse punch; uncertain countermarks. Carradice Type IV, Group B; BMC Arabia pl. XXVI, 17. 5.56gr, 15mm.
Near Very Fine. Unpublished and apparently unique countermarked inscription in Lydian, bearing possibly a personal name.
