Troas, Abydos AR Tetradrachm. Circa 80-70 BC. ΑΝΑΞΑΓΟΡΑΣ (Anaxagoras), magistrate.
Draped bust of Artemis to right, wearing stephanos, bow and quiver over shoulder / Eagle with wings spread standing to right; ABY-ΔH-NΩN above, filleted thyrsos in right field, ANAΞAΓOPOY in exergue; all within laurel wreath. SNG ANS 1945.33.4; SNG Ashmolean 1003; BMC 50; CN Type 2488. Very Fine. Dark toning with hints of golden and blue iridescence around the devices.(14.87gr, 28mm, 12h.).
