Uncertain Sicilian mint; struck 37-36 BC. [MAG PIVS IMP IT]ER, bare head of Cn. Pompeius Magnus to right; to left, capis; to right, lituus / [PRÆF] above, CLAS • ET • ORÆ MARIT • EX • S C (MAR ligate) in two lines beneath Neptune standing to left, holding aplustre in his right hand and resting his right foot on prow; to left and right, the Catanaean brothers Anapias and Amphinomus, with their parents on their shoulders, running in opposite directions. Crawford 511/3a; Sydenham 1344; Babelon (Pompeia) 27; RBW 1785. Near Extremely Fine. Sharply struck with a lovely old cabinet tone.(3.78gr, 18mm, 9h.).
