Diademed head of Venus to right / Aeneas advancing to left, carrying palladium and Anchises on shoulder; CAESAR downwards to right. Crawford 458/1; CRI 55; BMCRR East 31-35; RSC 12. Near Very Fine. Corroded.(3.29gr, 18mm, 7h.).

The small P on the obverse of this coin represents the only example of an artist engraving his initials on a Roman Republican coin. This fact went unnoticed for centuries, until it was first pointed out in a Santamaria sales catalogue in 1920. -
