Comprising: a standing Buddha; a Roman style bust; Chinese style figure of a standing bearded man; a Western Asiatic style torso of a man with a snake wrapped around his body; a ceramic figure of an ascetic wearing a seashell-shaped headdress; a Western Asiatic style pendant male figure with his armed raised in adoration. In late 15th century style, showing a nimbate angel in white robe with large red-and-gold wings, appearing to praying nimbate Jesus dressed in a red cloak and purple tunica talaris, Jesus shown with open arms in a sign of resignation to the will of God; a Flemish inscription 'DE DOODSTRIJD VAN JESUS' (The Agony of Jesus) on the bottom of the panel in uncial letters; some restoration. 4.5 kg, 65 x 53.5 cm

The scene represents the last prayer of Jesus before the Passion. According to the Gospel of Luke (22:43-44[1]) Jesus prayed in a farm known as Gethsemane on the Mount of Olives, and received consolation from an angel afterward, before the betrayal of Judas and his arrest. This event can be considered as the first true Passion of Jesus. -

Saint Anthony the Great on the left, represented in monastic dress holding a scroll of holy writings with his left hand; Saint Charalambos dressed as a bishop, with a green sticharion embroidered in gold, covered by a pink gold embroidered phelonion, a gold embroidered square epigonation with blue edges, and a long orange gold embroidered epitrachelion, holding a gold covered gospel with the image of Christ's resurrection with his left hand; tempera on wood. 558 grams, 25 x 18.6 cm

Saint Anthony the Great, who lived in the 3rd-4th century A.D., was the father of Eastern Monachism. According to the tradition, Saint Charalambos was martyred in 202 A.D. He is the protector of prosperity and health. -

Slender gold hoop with a leaf-topped column-type shoulders supporting an openwork silver bezel having old-cut diamonds in raised settings forming a cross motif with smaller diamonds on the sides. 3.95 grams, 19.43 mm overall, 16.71 mm internal diameter (approximate size British L, USA 5 3/4, Europe 11.24, Japan 10)
