South East Asian Bronze Father and Son Statuette
20TH CENTURY A.D.
8 in. (491 grams, 20.5 cm high).
Depicted seated nude on a large boulder, the male with short stocky legs and pronounced belly, wearing a conical headdress and having an urna on his forehead; holding a nude boy in his arms. [No Reserve]

Hoi An Cargo Shipwreck Glazed Blue and White Lidded Box Collection

Comprising three powder boxes, two with a painted landscape showing a corner of a building to the side; one with a large flower to the lid and decorative panels to the sides. 267 grams total, 59-63 mm

In the mid 15th century a freighting junk loaded with fine Vietnamese pottery sank in an area of the South China Sea called the 'Dragon’s Embrace.' This vessel is part of the shipwreck cargo recovered off the coast of Vietnam at Hoi An. The ceramics themselves were probably made in the area of Chu Dau. -
