Aï Khanoum; struck circa 280-271 BC. Diademed head to right / Horned and bridled horse's head to right; ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩ[Σ] behind, [ΑΝ]ΤΙΟΧΟΥ below; Δ within circle before. SC 432.3; SMAK A1DH; HGC 9, 136. Very Fine.(3.79gr, 15mm, 6h.).

    The sceptre behind the eagle on reverse is a symbol, which was regularly given by the Senate to client-kings for their elevated position. The sceptre with this monogram link the bronze issue with the royal silver of Brogitaros.
