This lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by a search certificate number no.12701-234381. This lot has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database, and is accompanied by an illustrated lot declaration signed by the Head of the Antiquities Department, Dr Raffaele D'Amato.

    The bronze or copper figurines of this class were cast either in single or double moulds, examples of which have been found at Byblos, Tell Soukas and Megiddo. Stylistically, they can be subdivided into at least two distinct groups: a) The "Byblo-Syrian" Group and b) the "Byblo-Egyptian" Group.
