Romano-British Imitation of Constantine I BI Nummus. AD 307/310-337.
Following Arles mint; struck circa AD 330-335. CONSTANTI-NVS MAX AVG, rosette-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust to right. / GLOR-IA EXERC-ITVS, two soldiers holding spears and shields with two standards between them, with long rectangular banners; wreath in upper centre, dot in the middle and within wreath; SCONST in exergue. The reverse inscription SIGNIS RECEPT DEVICTIS GERM[ANIS] refers to the recovery of the aquilae in a grove where they had been buried by the barbarians and their return to Rome.
