Roman Bronze Statuette of Pan

1ST-2ND CENTURY A.D.

4 in. (96 grams, 10.3 cm).

Modelled in the round figure of Faunus (Pan) in active pose with one leg raised, right arm bent in front of his chest, hair and tail billowing.

Provenance

Acquired on the German art market, 1989-1995.

    From an important London collection since 1975. Accompanied by a collection of six 1970s photographs of the the tablet.
