Roman Bronze Horse Crossbow Brooch
2ND-3RD CENTURY A.D.
1 3/8 in. (19 grams, 35 mm).
Bow brooch formed as a horse modelled in the round with halter to the neck, notched mane, punched pellet eyes; fore-legs forming the catch, rear legs with transverse bar and hinged pin beneath. [No Reserve]
