Modelled in the round on a square base with gusseted sides, standing with head turned and wings spread.

The way in which the exomis is twisted on the left shoulder and the presence of the exposed right breast could indicate that the original statue was that of an Amazon, with particular reference to the Amazon from the Albertoni collection in Rome, which has now disappeared. -

The Roman personal name 'Sixtus' is usually assumed to be an adaptation of Greek 'Ξυστος' meaning 'polished. However, in Latin, it originally indicated the sixth child born in the family. -
