Roman Bronze Apollo Statuette

2ND-3RD CENTURY A.D.

4 1/8 in. (144 grams, 10.5 cm).

A lar figure of Apollo depicted nude with a tall and slender body, carrying a quiver on his back, the right arm raised and holding a patera, left hand holding a branch(?), laurel wreath on his head; standing on a square pedestal base.

Provenance

Ex German art market, 2000s.
Acquired from an EU collector living in London.
From the collection of a Surrey, UK, gentleman.
This lot is accompanied by an illustrated lot declaration signed by the Head of the Antiquities Department, Dr Raffaele D'Amato.
