Hollow-formed ceramic figure standing erect with right hand resting on the chet; applied segmented necklace; applied facial detailing and headdress; with collector's label 'Pre-Columbian Terracotta Figure Jalisco west Mexico poss. BC100-AD600'; mounted on a custom-made stand. [No Reserve]
Provenance
From the old private Pre-Columbian collection of a retired UK gentleman; his collection formed in the 1990s from much earlier collections.
Some of his collection was acquired from the private collection of Wayne Leicht, who acquired the specimens from the estate sale of John Dewar, a previous curator at the Southwest Museum, William S.Hart Museum, and Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
