Pre-Columbian Terracotta Figure Head Group

JALISCO, POSSIBLY 100 B.C.-600 A.D.

2 - 3 3/8 in. (160 grams total, 52-65 mm).

Comprising: D-shaped face with bobbed hair; elongated head with rounded mouth and piercing at the cheek or earlobe; elongated face with applied bulb eyes; an elongated D-section head with applied bulb eyes split horizontally; each in a collector's card tray with label. [4, No Reserve]

Provenance

From the old private Pre-Columbian collection of a retired UK gentleman; his collection formed in the 1990s from much earlier collections.
Some of his collection was acquired from the private collection of Wayne Leicht, who acquired the specimens from the estate sale of John Dewar, a previous curator at the Southwest Museum, William S. Hart Museum, and Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
