Pre-Columbian Terracotta Figure and Figure Head Group

ANCIENT WEST MEXICO, 100 B.C.-250 A.D.

1 7/8 - 3 3/8 in. (164 grams total, 48-86 mm including stand).

Comprising: a rectangular flat-section figure with arms held across the chest; torso fragment with holes at the chest; head with piled hairstyle and dorsal band; each mounted on a display stand. [3, No Reserve]

Provenance

From the old private Pre-Columbian collection of a retired UK gentleman; his collection formed in the 1990s from much earlier collections.
Some of his collection was acquired from the private collection of Wayne Leicht, who acquired the specimens from the estate sale of John Dewar, a previous curator at the Southwest Museum, William S. Hart Museum, and Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
