Pre Columbian Red Ware Anthropomorphic Vessel
CHIMU CULTURE, 10TH-15TH CENTURY A.D.
7 7/8 in. (610 grams, 20 cm).
Comprising a bulbous body with central dimple to each face, pierced lugs to the shoulders, funicular neck with applied facial detailing to obverse, painted panels to reverse; lateral painted bands enclosing on each broad face a stylised facing figure with claw-like hands and braided hanks of hair.
