Pre Columbian Black Ware Stirrup-Spout Vessel with Frogs and Warriors
CHIMU CULTURE, 10TH-15TH CENTURY A.D.
8 7/8 in. (459 grams, 22.5 cm wide).
Bulbous body with flat base and two tall spouts, a wide strap handle between the spouts with two applied frog figurines; a decorative low-relief panel to both sides of the body showing two warriors in combat, one holding the head of a foe and a long club in the other hand, the other wielding a club and a curved axe. [No Reserve]
