Silver-Gilt Pineapple Chalice with Saint George
Germany, 19th-20th century A.D.Sold for (Inc. bp): £468
With waisted body, bulbous shoulder, everted rim, collared stem and tiered splayed foot, ornamented in repoussé bulbs and ogival ribs; lid with openwork rim of palmettes and foliate forms, central domes, finial with basket of palmettes, oval bulb above ornamented in pellets between spiral band, surmounted by a statuette, modelled in the round as Saint George, clad in armour, driving a spear into the dragon, with naturalistic detailing to the saint's features; various stamps to base; finial repaired. 613 grams, 43.6cm
Fine condition, finial repaired.

Ellipsoid panel with polychrome landscape scene with a reaper in the foreground advancing holding his scythe over his right arm, wearing a wide-brimmed straw hat, plain doublet and hose; in the middle distance, two figures reaping and a third resting, a shepherd catching a sheep by the hindlegs and a seated woman shearing the fleece from another on the threshold of a barn; in the distance, wooded hills with a castle and town; inked title 'Iŭnius' (June); lead came with two suspension loops; cracked and repaired. 268 grams, 24 cm
