Post Medieval Bronze Statue of Nike
20TH CENTURY A.D.
7 1/8 in. (945 grams, 18 cm).
Standing in floor-length pleated robe gathered at the waist and hemmed at the outside of each leg, with left hand on her hip and right extended holding a pearl(?); her hair secured by a diadem with punched rosette detailing; two large wings attached at the shoulders. [No Reserve]

Found whilst searching with a metal detector in Ryedale, North Yorkshire, UK, in 2022, by Matthew Lee-Smith. Returned to finder after being disclaimed as Treasure with case tracking no.2023T221. Accompanied by a copy of the British Museum's Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS) report no.YORYM-708E7A. Accompanied by a copy of the letter from the British Museum disclaiming the Crown's interest in the find. -
