Found Oxfordshire, UK, clay pits. Ian Wilkinson collection, Nottinghamshire, UK, formed since 1985.
The woolly rhinoceros inhabited northern Eurasia and mostly fed on grasses and sedges that grew in the mammoth steppe. An adult typically stood at 1.45-1.6 metres high with a large front horn that would have measured 1-1.35 metres long. -

Panthera spelaea is also known as the steppe lion or cave lion, became extinct about 13,000 years ago. Based on contemporary cave drawings, this prominent member of the mammoth steppe fauna, probably only had a very small mane. -
