Each of six fragments bearing cuneiform text or pictograms to at least one face. [6, No Reserve]
Provenance
Specialised collection of cuneiform texts, the property of a London gentleman and housed in London before 1992.
Thence by descent to family members.
Examined by Professor Wilfrid George Lambert FBA (1926-2011), historian, archaeologist, and specialist in Assyriology and Near Eastern archaeology, in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
This small collection is exceptional for the variety of types, including some very rare and well preserved examples.

In Achaemenid graves, it is possible to determine if the jewellery contained within belonged to an adult female or a child by its size. The jewellery of the adult women included a wreath, as well as three pairs of boat-shaped earrings, two necklaces, two pendants, four finger rings, and a set of dress ornaments. Children's jewellery pieces usually consisted of only three pairs of earrings and a necklace. -

Comprising four separate calligraphic glazed tiles with chamfered outer edges; each with ochre and yellow meander motif enclosing a light blue field with flowers and foliage in white, central dark blue panel with yellow scrolled border and white calligraphic text; repaired. 14.7 kg, 62 cm
