CIRCA 11TH-13TH CENTURY A.D.

1 5/8 in. (15.27 grams, 41.04 mm overall, 20.87 mm internal diameter (approximate size British X 1/2, USA 11 3/4 , Europe 26.92, Japan 25)).

With three studs to the outer face, angled triangular plaque with low-relief scrolled tendril design.

Acquired on the London art market in the late 1980s-1990s.

    The same Arthur Ormesby, esquire, appears in a document of 06 October 1425 where Arthur and his wife Margaret, deforciants, have acknowledged the tenements to be the right of Andrew Sperlying, Thomas Chaucers, John Golafre and Eustace Valdrean, querents, and have remised and quitclaimed them from themselves and the heirs of Margaret to Thomas, John, Andrew and Eustace and the heirs of Andrew for ever.

    Gilt-bronze crozier head fragment comprising: lower arc of the bow with lattice and enamel fill; horizontal base with standing figure of Mary wearing a floor-length gown, holding to her chest an open book; to her rear, a portion of a house with latticed window and tiled roof with lobed finial; before her, the two feet of the archangel Gabriel; supplied with a custom-made display stand. 69 grams, 97 mm (113 grams total, 15.5 cm high including stand)
