Medieval Marble Capital with Winged Demon

LATE 12TH CENTURY A.D.

14 1/2 in. (14.05 kg total, 37 cm including stand).

Carved capital to a column with crouching nude figure, swept-back hair and wings spread along two adjacent edges, tail looped to the side, foliage arches to the rear, ledge below, two dressed faces to the rear. [No Reserve]
