Medieval Gold Ring with Garnet Gemstone
CIRCA 15TH CENTURY A.D.
3/4 in. (0.80 grams, 19.37 mm overall, 17.62 mm internal diameter (approximate size British N 1/2, USA 6 3/4, Europe 14.35, Japan 13)).
Slender hoop with vesica-shaped cell open to both faces, granulated borders and inset garnet cloison.

The early rowel spurs had short necks and small four-six or seven point star rowels, while four rowels were uncommon. After c.1350 the multipoint rowel became voguish though the former shapes continued. -
