Serdica mint; struck AD 307-308. GAL VAL MAXIMINVS NOB C, laureate head to right / GENIO CAESARIS, Genius, modius on head, naked but for chlamys over left shoulder, standing to left, holding patera from which liquid flows, and cornucopia; star in left field, Δ(?) in right field; •SM•SD• in exergue. With an impression of the obverse on one side, and the reverse on the other, of the coin being counterfeited this ancient forger's casting mould would have been stacked with others, the molten metal being poured from above and allowed to cool.
