Macedon under Roman Rule, First Meris AR Tetradrachm. Struck circa 156-2nd half of 2nd century BC. Amphipolis mint.
Diademed and draped bust of Artemis to right, bow and quiver over shoulder, on the boss of a Macedonian shield / Club; monogram of ΒΥΔΡ and MAKEΔONΩN above, ΠPΩTHΣ and monograms of KTP and METOY below; all within oak wreath, thunderbolt to left. Cf. Prokopov, Silver, Group II.A, 266; HGC 3, 1103. Near Very Fine.(16.82gr, 31mm, 12h.).
