Lucania, Metapontum AR Didrachm of Nomos. Circa 330-290 BC.
Struck under the magistrates EY- (Eu-) and ΛY- (Ly-). Head of Demeter to right, wearing grain wreath, pendant earring and pearl necklace; ΕΥ beneath chin / ΜΕΤΑ, ear of barley with leaf to right; above leaf, sixteen-rayed star; in the lower field to left, ΛΥ. ANS 499 (same dies); Johnston C.8.12 (same dies). Near Extremely Fine. Attractive toning with iridescence in fields. Well-centred.(7.77gr, 21mm, 1h.).
