LOWER PALAEOLITHIC PERIOD, CIRCA 500,000 B.P.
6 3/4 in. (8 5/8 in.) (793 grams, 17.2 cm (850 grams, 22 cm including stand)).
Triangular in profile with broad butt; old inked legend '25854'; mounted on a custom-made stand.
Provenance
Found North West Africa.
Formally part of a French collection built up in the mid 1900s and sold via a European auction house.
Acquired on the UK art market from Mr P M based in Kent.
