Large Chinese Han Terracotta Dancer

HAN DYNASTY, 206 B.C.-220 A.D.

20 in. (6.97 kg, 51 cm).

Depicted in a dynamic pose with raised right hand, dressed in a typical flowing, long-sleeved robe and shoes just visible beneath the folds of the hem, hair tied to a long ponytail falling along her back.

Accompanied by an original thermoluminescence analysis report no.C118m91 from Oxford Authentication.
This lot has been checked against the Interpol Database of stolen works of art and is accompanied by a search certificate number no.12753-235735.

    In the mid 15th century a freighting junk loaded with fine Vietnamese pottery sank in an area of the South China Sea called the 'Dragon’s Embrace.' This vessel is part of the shipwreck cargo recovered off the coast of Vietnam at Hoi An. The ceramics themselves were probably made in the area of Chu Dau.
