Javanese Gold Ring with Cabochon

14TH-16TH CENTURY A.D.

1 in. (6.55 grams, 24.75 mm overall, 18.55 mm internal diameter (approximate size British K 1/2, USA 5 1/2, Europe 10.58, Japan 10)).

Comprising a D-section hoop with lobed shoulders supporting an ellipsoid bezel with beaded collar and scalloped edges to the cell, inset ruby-coloured glass cabochon.

Provenance

Acquired 1970-2010.
Collection of a late Japanese gentleman.
Ex Derek Rogers collection, Suffolk, UK.
This lot is accompanied by an illustrated lot declaration signed by the Head of the Antiquities Department, Dr Raffaele D'Amato.
