Italian Double-Barrelled Percussion Pistol
19TH CENTURY A.D.
10 1/4 in. (445 grams, 26 cm).
Double-barrelled, single action 9mm calibre smooth bored pistol with 13cm twin 'over-and-under' barrels fitted with twin hammers and triggers with guard, with floriate engraving; fitted with fluted wood stock and iron butt plate; action working.

Luristan Bronze Short Sword Blade

Triangular profile with two parallel fullers tapering to a rounded tip, the tang forming an extension of the midrib. 194 grams, 30.7 cm

The metalworking techniques used in making bronze weapons in Luristan were very complex. Surfaces were often finished in repoussé work, and some of the weapons were chased, others engraved. -
Western Asiatic Bronze Long Sword
2nd-1st millennium B.C.Sold for (Inc. bp): £182
Composed of a tanged and barbed blade with raised midrib to both faces, extending the full-length of the weapon. 470 grams, 57 cm

In the last ninety years many such tanged blades have been considered coming from centres of production of North-West Iran, like Amlash and Marlik. Without context an accurate dating is impossible, but the shape recalls the rapiers of Bronze Age or Early Iron Age. -
Roman Iron Plumbata Mamillata

The lead-weighted darts known as plumbatae mamillatae, (or breasted javelin) were short darts mounted upon a shaft, of the same shape, and thrown from a short distance. A Roman soldier would typically carry around 5-6 of these darts at any one time, fastened to the back of his shield. They could be thrown overhand or underhand, with an effective throwing range of up to 60 meters by trained soldiers.
