Ireland. Easter Rising Anniversary AR Ten Scilling. Dated 1966.

Royal mint, London. Commemorative 10 shilling piece on the 50th anniversary of the Easter Rising in 1916. éiRe · 1966 ·, bust of Padraig Pearse (Patrick Pearse) to right / deiċ scilling in Gaelic around the figure of Cú Chulainn (an Irish mythological hero) as a miniature of the statue by Oliver Sheppard, currently in the General Post Office, Dublin. Edge insciption: éiRí amac na Cásca 1916 in Gaelic. SCBC 6646; KM 18. Almost Uncirculated. Some scratches.(18.16gr, 30mm, 12h.).

Footnotes

Many of these coins (1,270,000) were melted by the Central Bank around decimalisation in 1971 and many more were melted privately when the price of silver was very high in 1980/81.
