Inca Painted Pottery Stirrup Jar with Crouching Figure
CIRCA 1100 A.D.
5 7/8 in. (471 grams, 15 cm).
Stirrup jar comprising a cuboid body with crouching figure above wearing a segmented collar and low pillbox cap; to the rear of the handle am integrally modelled monkey.
Provenance
Franziska Gassner (1907-2005), Ingelheim am Rhein, Germany, assembled between 1945 and 1980.
