Great Britain. Sandwich, Kent AE Halfpenny Token. 19th century AD.

Engraved by Dixon. The design is based on the seal of the town of Sandwich. MANUFACTURERS TRADE AND COMMERCE, arms combining the three Plantagenet lions and the three ships of the Cinque Ports (five coastal towns, Hastings, New Romney, Hythe, Dover and Sandwich that had a special agreement with the crown of England) / SANDWICH HALFPENNY TOKEN FOR, sailboat, two sailors at the bow, one at the stern, two busy with the sail, a small boat on deck. Edge inscription: PAYABLE AT THOMAS BUNDOCKS X · X · X · X. DH 39; Atkin 37. Very Fine.(9.46gr, 29mm, 6h). [No Reserve]
