The tripod base formed with radiating lion-paw feet, decorated with low-relief acanthus fronds, fluted stem and acanthus capital surmounted by a figure of the goddess Aphrodite stooping to tie her sandal; disc finial with egg-and-dart rim. 5.45 kg, 87.5 cm

The figure of the goddess Aphrodite stooping to tie her sandal is based on the famous example from the Temple of Aphrodite at Cyrene, Libya, now in the British Museum under accession no. 1861,1127.51. -
