Obv: laureate draped bust facing left with OLIVAR D G R P ANG SCO HIB &c PRO legend. Rev: crowned quartered shield of the Protectorate, 1658 above and legend PAX QVAERITVR BELLO ('Peace is sought through war'), an imitation or forgery removed from jewellery, perhaps a cast. Very fine.(27.92 grams, 38 mm.).
