Egyptian Faience Bead Necklace String with Horus Amulet
LATE PERIOD, 664-332 B.C.
10 1/4 in. (14.6 grams, 26 cm).
Restrung using mainly annular and tubular beads; central feature a large pendant depicting the god Horus in falcon form, intricate feather detailing to the wings and back, long talons gripping the rectangular platform.
ProvenanceFrom the vendor's grandfather's collection, formed in the 1950s; thence by family descent circa 1974.

The four photographs of Abu Simbel show the original location of the magnificent rock-cut temple complex of Ramesses II before it was dismantled in 1964 and re-assembled on higher ground to rescue it from the rising waters of Lake Nassar. -
