Chinese Tang Terracotta Horse and Rider
TANG DYNASTY, 618-907 A.D.
16 1/2 in. (5.6 kg, 42 cm high).
Modelled in the round in static pose on a rectangular base, the female rider bent forward with right arm raised; both hands pierced to accept reins (absent).
Provenance
Ex West Country, UK, collection, 1980-1990s.
Accompanied by a thermoluminescence analysis report no.C124d51 from Oxford Authentication.
