Chinese Rock Crystal Plaques with Animal Faces

1 5/8 in. (9 7/8 x 5 7/8 in.) (42.1 grams total, 42 mm each (436 grams total, 25 x 15 cm including box)).
Matched pair, each a plano-convex appliqué with carved facial features, hatched band to the brow and chin, two countersunk eyes flanking a carinated nose. [2]

On the 14th of March 1817, she hit rocks off the Straits of Malacca and sank. The wreck was identified and recovered in 1994 by Dorian Ball of Malaysian Historical Salvors. -
