Celtic Britannia. Eastern North Thames Region AV Quarter Stater. Circa 55-45 BC. Uninscribed coinage. Southern-style Qc gold types. Essex Wheels type.
Abstracted laureate head of Apollo to right / Triple-tailed horse to right, spoked-wheel below, onion-like-motif above, triskelion to upper right field; pellet-in-ring around. ABC 2231 (triskelion not mentioned); VA -; SCBC -; for an another example see Chris Rudd, Auction 190, lot 24. Good Very Fine. Excessively rare fractional Stater.(1.33gr, 15mm, 1h.).
