Bronze Lion Aquamanile with Falconer
LATE 19TH-EARLY 20TH CENTURY A.D.
9 1/2 in. (4.51 kg, 24 cm wide).
Hollow-formed as a stylised lion standing erect with mane of overlapping lozenges, separately cast rider figure sitting astride on a rectangular saddlecloth with bird of prey on the right hand, wearing a pillbox hat with open top forming the filler vent; tubular spout in the lion's mouth; eastern Mediterranean workmanship. [No Reserve]
