Bronze Age Decorated Looped and Socketted Axehead

CENTRAL EUROPE, 2ND-1ST MILLENNIUM B.C.

4 1/4 in. (255 grams, 10.9 cm).

With ellipsoid-section shank and splayed blade with curved cutting edge; raised ribs beneath the carinated mouth, small loop below the rim. [No Reserve]

    The Portable Antiquities Scheme states that this axehead is: 'probably part of the Acton Park or Taunton metalwork assemblages.'
