Mediolanum mint; struck AD 270-271. 2nd officina. IMP AVRELIANVS AVG, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust to right / [DAC]IA FELIX, Dacia standing to left, holding long staff, surmounted by ass's head; S in exergue. RIC V.1 108; MER-RIC 1383 (temporary); Cohen 73. Good Very Fine. Some original silvering remaining. Rare.(3.36gr, 19mm, 6h.).

With an impression of the obverse on one side, and the reverse on the other, of the coin being counterfeited this ancient forger's casting mould would have been stacked with others, the molten metal being poured from above and allowed to cool. -
