Arab-Byzantine, Umayyad Caliphate AE Fals. Time of 'Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan, AH 65-86 (AD 685-705).

Halab mint. Struck AH 74-80 (AD 693/4-699/700). Caliph standing facing, wearing long robes, holding pommel of sword; girdle band hanging from elbow; illegible legend around / Transformed cross standing on three steps; in left field, 'in Halab' in Kufic; in right field, 'full weight' in Kufic; around, part of the first Kalima. DOCAB -; Goodwin, Type IV; cf. SICA I, 619. Near Very Fine.(2.86gr, 20mm, 11h). [No Reserve]
