Anglo-Saxon. Kings of All England, Edward the Confessor AR Penny. 1042-1066.

York mint; Arngrimr, moneyer. Small Flan type (BMC ii, Hild. B). Struck circa 1048-1050. ✠ EDPE-RD RE, diademed and draped bust to left / ✠ ARNGRI ON EOFR (NG and N E ligate), voided short cross; annulet in second quarter. SCBI 1 (Fitzwilliam), 855 var. (ON EO); North 818; SCBC 1175. Fine.(0.90gr, 14mm, 4h.).

Found by Robin Sykes in Sutton-on-the-Forest, North Yorkshire, UK, in March 2000.
