Anglo-Saxon Gilt Bronze Strap End with Beast Facing Back
CIRCA 750-900 A.D.
1 7/8 in. (11.7 grams, 47 mm).
Teardrop-shaped fitting with split upper edge and securing rivets; palmette motif below the rivets, reserved scrolled best motif on a niello(?) field, beast-head finial. [No Reserve]
