Ancient Greek Coins - Macedonia - Shield AR Tetradrachm 167-149 B.C.
Amphipolis, First Meris. Obv: diademed and draped bust of Artemis right, bow and quiver behind shoulder, all at the centre of a Macedonian shield decorated with dots between stars in crescents. Rev: MAKEDONWN PRWTHS legend with club to right, AR monogram above all within oak wreath, thunderbolt in outer left field. Near extremely fine.(16.98 grams.).
