Ancient Greek Coins - Macedonia - Alexander III (the Great) - Countermarked AR Tetradrachm 202-201 B.C.
Aspendos, Pamphylia mint, dated year 27. Obv: head of Herakles right, wearing lionskin headdress, countermark of Seleukid anchor. Rev: ALEXANDROY legend with Zeus seated left, right leg drawn back, holding eagle and sceptre; AS over K-cornucopiae-archaic X in left field. Good fine.(16.37 grams.).
